Located in the western region of the country, the park stands as one of thenation’s most remarkable natural treasures, celebrated for its exceptional
biodiversity and breathtaking landscapes. It supports a wide range of wildlife, including the iconic African lion, elephant and buffalo, as well as the Uganda kob, topi, waterbuck, warthog, giant forest hog, hippopotamus, Nile crocodile, leopard and spotted hyena.

The park is also home to populations of chimpanzees and numerous other primate species. In total, it shelters an impressive 95 species of mammals and over 600 recorded species of birds, making it a premier destination for wildlife enthusiasts and ornithologists alike.

Within the park lie two magnificent lakes—Lake Edward and Lake George—connected by the 40-kilometre-long Kazinga Channel. This natural waterway serves as a lifeline for many animals, particularly hippos, crocodiles and elephants, which can often be seen cooling off along its banks or wading through its waters. The Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise offers visitors an unforgettable experience, providing close-up encounters with these animals in their natural habitat while surrounded by stunning views of the lakes and the surrounding savannah.

Itinerary Details

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Evening Boat cruise
Very early in the morning, you will meet your guide for a briefing before setting off. You will then start your journey driving through the Kampala- Masaka Mbarara Highway. Our first stopover is in Kayabwe town at the Uganda Equator. This attraction offers a unique blend of scientific wonder, cultural experience, and photographic opportunities. Visitors can experience the thrill of standing on both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, witness water
experiments demonstrating the Coriolis effect, and explore nearby craft shops and restaurants.

We then proceed with our journey and have another brief stopover at the famous Lukaya market. This is one food market you can’t bypass. It`s famous for its yummy & mouthwatering roasted meats, chicken, plantain, cassava & a cocktail of assorted drinks.

We shall then proceed with our journey, reaching our destination in time for the afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. The cruise exposes you to a game-viewing adventure on the shores of the channel. Many animals congregate here to take water and quench their thirst. Enjoy the sights of the hippos and Nile crocodiles wallowing at the shores of the basin. It is of great importance to note that the Kazinga channel hosts the biggest population of hippos in East Africa.

Day 2: Game Drive and transfer back to Kampala
 After an early breakfast, we will set out for a morning game drive across the Kasenyi Plains, one of the park’s most rewarding wildlife viewing areas.
Renowned for its vast open savannah and rich biodiversity, the Kasenyi Plains provide an excellent opportunity to observe a variety of animal species in their natural habitat. The area serves as the primary breeding ground for the Uganda kob, whose presence attracts numerous predators such as lions, leopards, and hyenas. This dynamic predator-prey interaction makes the Kasenyi Plains a prime location for exceptional game viewing and photography experiences.
After the Experience, you will begin your journey back to Kampala /Entebbe.
