4. Namugongo Catholic Martyrs Shrine – A Monument of Sacrifice
This iconic basilica was built at the exact site where St. Charles Lwanga and his companions were martyred. The hut-shaped structure, supported by 22 pillars (each representing a martyr), stands over a sacred altar marking the execution spot. Declared a basilica in 1993, it features a man-madelake, pilgrimage paths, and prayer gardens. 5. Namugongo Anglican Martyrs Shrine – Faith Preserved

It features a modern amphitheatre seating up to 20,000, a museum detailing the lives and legacy of the martyrs, and sacred springs where executioners once washed their weapons.
