1 Day Lake Mburo National Park Safari

Lake Mburo National Park is a stunning gem located in western Uganda, between the towns of Masaka and Mbarara. It is the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks. Still, one of the most scenic and easily accessible, making it a perfect stopover for travellers heading to or from other destinations, such as Bwindi or Queen Elizabeth National Park.

The park is characterised by rolling hills, open grasslands, acacia woodlands, and five beautiful lakes, with Lake Mburo being the largest. It is home to a rich
diversity of wildlife, including zebras, impalas, elands, topis, buffaloes, hippos, leopards, hyenas, and over 350 species of birds. Uniquely, it is the only park in Uganda where impalas can be found and one of the few with zebras.

Activities include game drives, guided nature walks, boat cruises on Lake Mburo, horseback safaris, and cycling tours—offering close encounters with wildlife in a tranquil setting. The park’s blend of beauty, accessibility, and diverse experiences makes it an ideal destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. Below are the Safari highlights;

Lukaaya Market

Lukaya Market, located along the Kampala–Masaka highway, is a lively roadside market famous for its delicious roasted meats, chicken, plantain, cassava, and refreshing drinks. It’s a popular stop for travelers to enjoy authentic Ugandan street food, interact with local vendors, and experience the vibrant culture of roadside trading.
